Pets are not annoying
    2013-03-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    深圳职业技术学院 张淑娴

For some people, pets like dogs are an annoyance and the source of various diseases. Some people really dislike dogs and sometimes choose to avoid walking near a dog on the street — and some even hit them if they get too close. As far as I am concerned, pets are loyal friends of humans. My dog Lucus is the best example.

Lucus was born in my grandfather’s home, the second puppy born to its mother. I took Lucus home because the moment I saw him, he used his paws to grab the bars of his cage. I immediately fell in love with him. From then on, he became one of my best friends. I take care of him and play with him every day. l taught him how to go to the toilet when he wants to and I make him sit calmly when l give him a bath. I trained him to understand my orders. Sometimes, I feel he can read my mind. And Lucus is crazy about playing various ball games.

As time goes by, l have grown up. And so has Lucus — he has become twice as big as when he first entered my home. But, an animal’s life is usually shorter than that of a human being. Now Lucus is getting older and older. He is no longer an energetic dog. When he sees me, he just wags his tail instead of jumping up. Although Lucus is not as vigorous as before, we love each other deeply. We will always be friends.

When I think about Lucus, I don’t ever think that he has brought any inconvience or that he could possibly give me diseases. I live a normal and happy life. There are some people who neglect the feelings of others regarding their pets. But as long as the owners pay attention to issues concerning hygiene and obey the rules and regulations there is no reason to be against keeping pets at home.
