Since the first day I went to school, I have been sitting in front of blackboards every day. In Grade Six in primary school, I took part in a speech contest in my class, but when I went to the platform near the blackboard, I forgot all the words. I could not stop sweating. I had written key words on the blackboard — but this did not help, and it witnessed my silence. My results in maths were unsatisfactory when I was in Junior 2 and, unfortunately for me, the teacher often asked me to write equations and other answers on the blackboard. I was embarrassed every time I took the chalk. That experience made me study mathematics very hard, and my results improved. When there was a debating class, my teacher would write the topics on the blackboard and asked for our opinions, and we all debated together. This is one of my favorite memories from my school years. The blackboard has a special place in these memories, and it has witnessed my progress, with all its happinesses and mishaps. |
