    EU to invest

ENTERPRISES from European Union (EU) countries signed more than a dozen contracts with Shenzhen enterprises to invest in the city’s design industry in a cultural business meeting during the 9th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair.

More than 70 people from Shenzhen and EU countries including Italy, France and Spain attended the meeting. Representatives of EU companies including Dakit Design from Spain and Focus Design from Hungary learned about the development of Shenzhen’s design industry and signed contracts on site with local design enterprises such as Shenzhen ACTO Digital Video Technology Co. and Yong Feng Yuan Ceramic Co.

    Gem Cube

THE Gem Cube, a four-story structure with floor space totaling 100,000 square meters, opened Sunday in Xixiang Subdistrict, Bao’an District. It’s a subvenue of the 9th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair.

The project, the second phase of Shenzhen Western Jewelry City, will be a platform for international jewelry trades. With costs totaling 1.6 billion yuan (US$260 million), it is also a major project of Bao’an District’s industrial upgrades and development.

    Brochure offered

THE Ministry of Culture released a brochure promoting more than 3,000 major cultural projects in China this year to guide exhibitors and investors at a meeting Friday.

The projects cover 11 sectors in the culture industry, including cultural tourism, performance, digital publication, animation, online games and innovative design.
