Success is something most of us strive to achieve. We can’t simply live on what we have received from our parents. Some become successful because of their charming appearance or family status, and we often see a great deal of reports on those people. However, when beauty and family support disappear, what else can be found to prove their success? Instead of stressing inheritances from genes or family, it is more meaningful to broaden the definition of success. When I was a kid, I was pushed to get good grades and told that success means entering a famous university, finding a good job and making a big fortune. But later, I found that if I kept chasing the so-called successful life I could never be satisfied. Success to me means a simple but happy and free life. Being happier is easier than we think. All the small things in life can lighten one’s mood: a flower’s blooms, a stranger’s smiles and someone’s gesture in greeting. A better mood will lead to positive results, which lead to success. The understanding of success may be different, but the taste of success is always the same. As long as we set our own life goals or know what our ideal life is and try to achieve it step by step, we can eventually announce our success and find happiness on the way to it. Do what you want and reach a positive result — by any definition, you will have found success. |
