Dear readers, It is almost Independence Day. Every year on July 4, Independence Day is celebrated with fireworks and other festivities across the United States. In my opinion, the best place to watch fireworks is on the beach. In fact, since most schools are on summer break already, the beach is a popular travel destination. Graduating seniors in high school may go to the shore together as a final field trip. Thus, a trip to the beach with friends on July 4 would be even more fun thanks to the fireworks reflected on the calm water surface. Of course, one can only go to the beach if the weather permits. One can always enjoy local fireworks, which usually start with an outdoor movie and popcorn. Before the fireworks start, there are also performances. The national anthem of the United States is sung. The national anthem — “The Star-Spangled Banner” — is sung on holidays and other occasions, such as sports events. Independence Day is a time when people display their patriotism. As July 4 immediately follows the end of the school year, it is one of the first celebrations of the summer. Sincerely, Bingyin |
