Micromovie tells primary student’s real story
    2013-07-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A Shenzhen primary student’s life story has been made into a micromovie to tell an encouraging tale of a little girl who is persistent in pursuing her dancing dream, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

“Dancing to the Dream” is a faithful portrayal of what has happened to Wang Haoxi, a Grade 5 student at Huacheng Primary School in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District. Wang and her classmates starred in the micromovie, in compelling performances that left many in tears when the movie premiered.

Wang was an introverted child who had been living with her grandparents since her early childhood. She once joined the school’s aerobics team and her life gradually changed. She grew more outgoing and cheerful as she practiced aerobics with her teammates.

However, fortune favored her little. She was diagnosed with congenital arrhythmia and premature ventricular contraction, and told by a doctor to avoid strong exercise. Despite her strong reluctance, the girl had to bury her dancing dreams at the bottom of her heart.

“I would love to dance always, to the last beat of my heart,” cried Wang in the movie. When she realized that her dancing dream would be discontinued due to her illness, she decided to continue pursuing her dream by helping her teammates become good dancers. She started to act as an assistant to her aerobics coach and turned herself into a girl full of courage and vigor.

“If a dream is a lamp, our diligent work will be the fuel to enflame it to light our lives” are said in the last lines of the movie, echoing the girl’s strenuous effort to pursue her dream.

Gao Yuan, the teacher who directed the micromovie, said she was moved by Wang after she learned about her story and decided to write it into a movie script.

“I think she can step closer to her dream in another way, for example, by filming her story in the micromovie,” Gao said.(Zhao Jie)
