    Nowadays, the issue of environmental pollution has become more and more serious in China and the dust haze in many cities has already sent us a warning signal.

    There are many kinds of environmental pollution, such as air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution and light pollution. Besides pollution, natural disasters such as floods, droughts, hurricanes and tornadoes happen frequently around us and cause many losses. All of the above things seriously affect our health and lives. Therefore, we should try our best to protect the environment. Taking good care of our environment is very important and it is our duty.

    How to protect the environment? In my opinion, there are some possible ways to help reduce pollution.

    I think the government should make laws to control gas emissions, protect the forests and sea resources, and stop some further pollution to the environment. The government must take some concrete measures. First, it should make people more aware of the importance of environmental protection through education. Second, effective suggestions should be put into practice.

    As for citizens, we should reduce the use of cars and air-conditioners to solve the problem of greenhouse effect. It’s better to use environmentally friendly bags instead of plastic bags when we go shopping. In short, everyone should protect our environment and try to live a low-carbon life.

    As for students, we should use both sides of the paper when we write. We can save electricity by turning off the lights when we leave the classroom, for example. Of course, wherever we go, we mustn’t litter.

    We only have one Earth, which is our home. Faced with increasingly serious environmental problems, we should unite to take actions. Every individual and every small effort counts. Hopefully everyone will make his or her own contribution to environmental protection.
