Taiwan TV host questioned over scandal
    2013-10-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    台湾主持人小S陷胖达人炒股风波被传唤

Taiwan television entertainer, Dee Hsu, better known as Little S, was questioned by the Taipei District Prosecutor’s Office on Friday for her alleged involvement in the Top Pot Bakery scandal and for any information regarding a case implicating* her husband and father-in-law of allegedly profiting from insider trading*.

Hsu had endorsed the Top Pot Bakery chain, in which her husband, Mike Hsu, held shares. However, the public lashed out against the bakery chain in late August when it was revealed that they had been using artificial flavoring* in products it advertised as “all-natural.”

Further investigation into the issue by the prosecutors found that Hsu’s husband and father-in-law, along with three senior management employees at Genome International, had allegedly sold company stock that they owned at a point when the company’s stock price was at a high, before the company released a statement that it was doing poorly and the share price dropped.

The five suspects are said to have avoided financial losses totaling nearly 60 million New Taiwan Dollars (US$ 2.04 million) by allegedly selling their shares before the statement was released.(SD-Agencies)
