深圳外国语学校高中部 高二(1)班 庄心旖 Zhuang Xinqi, Class 1, Senior 2, Shenzhen Foreign Languages School It seems that puppy love is a prevalent phenomenon these days, which would stagger few people. In fact, even in so-called “elite” schools, student lovers can be spotted holding hands together, strolling along moonlit campus paths, feeding each other meals in the student canteen or hugging under the streetlights. Research conducted among students in an ordinary senior high school has revealed a startling number, 38 percent of the respondents confessed that they have been in love. According to experts, there are many reasons that students have puppy love, and here are a few major ones. First, students who enter boarding schools are prone to seek someone for consolation when they feel upset or lonely. Second, students may be itching to find something riveting to do, such as finding their “beloveds.” Third, teenagers are especially vulnerable to harmful information from a variety of sources. Dealing with these problems will require concerted effort from different parties. For a start, parents shouldn’t take a blind eye to their children’s emotional development. If parents find out that their children have fallen into an immature love, the worst thing they could do is have a harsh objection to that love. In addition, instruction and counsel from teachers are also important. Teachers should educate students on what is the major task for students and what is the essence of love. Moreover, youngsters themselves should take time to contemplate whether they are serious about a loving relationship, and whether they can take responsibility for the relationship. Finally, society should take a united effort to keep bad information away from students and promote positive values. It is human nature to love. We cannot stop love at early ages, but we can endeavor to avoid love that may lead to tragedy. It’s my point of view that love with moderate and mature minds can create happy memories, while love in rash and capricious ways without the sharing of responsibility might lead to catastrophe. |
