    As the saying goes, “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” Friends play a very important role in our daily life. But how does someone make good friends? I think a good friend should possess at least three qualities.

    Firstly, a good friend should be someone who follows certain principles, and doesn’t just follow everyone else or make judgments based on what other people say. I think people who stick to their own principles are more reliable.

    Secondly, a good friend should be someone who you can fully trust. Friends should be honest to each other and communicate heart to heart. Moreover, they should help each other whenever one party is in need.

    Finally, a friend who has an positive and optimistic attitude towards life can brighten me up and give me courage, especially when I’m in low spirits, just like how beautiful sunshine can drive away the dark clouds.

    If you make friends with people who have these three qualities, then such a friendship will be one of your greatest assets.
