Having fun at Halloween Rock Festival
    2013-10-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    By Sangeeta Ghose

Last weekend a Halloween Rock Festival was held in Bao’an District by Shenzhenlocalmusic.com. It was their 4th music festival this year.

Making it “rock” here in Guangdong, the founding team invited music lovers around the Pearl River Delta area to join and enjoy their time together away from their hometowns. “We don’t want to feel lost and homesick. We want to make Shenzhen our home,” said Adrian, one of the leading singers and drummers of the festival.

The kind of support that the Shenzhen local music team has been receiving reinforces the fact that Shenzheners enjoy this fusion of Western and Chinese culture. Generous vendors such as Tiger Beer, Frankie’s Bar, Davichi, and Skullcandy supported the event with food, beer and Halloween accessories, while the performing bands made sure the whole evening rocked.

U.S. and European-style rock music has long had a heavy influence on Chinese pop music. Whatever the latest trend may be, music will be here to stay and is sure to make life in Shenzhen more enjoyable.
