郑伟杰 深圳市南山区蛇口工业区 Zheng Weijie Shekou Industrial Zone, Nanshan District As the old saying goes, “Interest is the best teacher.” It means as long as one is interested in something, it won’t be too difficult for one to learn it. I think that interest is not only the best teacher, but also a main source of pleasure. Nowadays, people are facing more pressure in their lives, mainly resulting from fierce competition. Students may aim for higher scores in exams. Adults tend to pursue wealth or better career development. It’s quite likely that during the struggle for these things, we have narrowed our sights and limited the scope of our hearts. Lives have turned out to be tedious and boring. No matter how busy you are, you should never neglect developing your interests, because that is what makes you complete. Playing basketball is my interest. Since the first day I touched a basketball, I have been reluctant to drop it. I began to play when I was in primary school and have continued to improve my skills. I have had to reduce my time playing basketball in the last year in senior high school, because, like most students, I have to work hard to prepare for the national college entrance examinations. But I still shoot occasionally or play 3-on-3 with my friends when I have time to relax. Why am I so fond of playing basketball? I love the sound when the ball hits the ground and goes through the net; I love the sweat soaking my jersey; I love the cheers from my teammates when I make a good play. I couldn’t tell you why but I know the feeling when I step on the basketball court; I feel both passion and stillness from the bottom of my heart. It’s not easy to follow an interest and insist on doing what you like. But once you find it, grab on to it tightly and do not let it go. What your interest brings you can be priceless. |
