    Headquarters

    FOUNDER Information Industry Group will expand its Shenzhen science park into the group’s southern headquarters in Shiyan, Bao’an District, according to a company release yesterday.

    The headquarters will have a floor space of 468,300 square meters, a research and development center, a general affairs building, dormitories and public facilities including bus stops and community health service centers.

    In the future, a museum and art gallery featuring the development of the IT industry will be constructed in the headquarters. Cultural, artistic and medical facilities will be open to the public when the projects are completed.

    Software exports

    SHENZHEN’S software industry generated 249.8 billion yuan (US$41 billion) in revenue in 2012, the second among major Chinese cities.

    Its exports reached 15 billion yuan, ranking No. 1 in China, according to Chen Biao, vice mayor of Shenzhen, at a forum Saturday.

    The forum, Software and Information Technology Service Development of China, focused on topics including the construction of intelligent cities, establishing new business models and promoting consumption related to information technology.
