Celebrity kids make TV debut
    2013-11-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FIVE children of famed Chinese stars have received a lot of exposure in the past half month, since the broadcasting of a popular reality show on Hunan Satellite Television.

Joining in on journeys with their fathers to either less developed or uninhabited areas in China, Guo Zirui, the 6-year-old son of film star Guo Tao, Kimi Lin, the 4-year-old son of film star and speed racer Jimmy Lin, Tian Yucheng, the 5-year-old daughter of former Olympic diving champion Tian Liang, Wang Shiling, the 4-year-old daughter of film director Wang Yuelun and Zhang Yuexuan, the 6-year-old son of model Zhang Liang, have drawn the attention of Chinese viewers on “Where Are We Going? Dad.”

The five children, who are not mature enough to completely distinguish daily life from television, have to face various challenges during their trips. Their performances have brought tears and laughter to audiences. Although being the children of celebrities, none of them were well-known before the show’s screening.

“Now I have become the spokesman of Guo Zirui,” said Guo at a recent fashion event. “I am happy to witness his growth in the show, but as his father I hope he can go back to school after the end of the first season.”

Agreeing with Guo, Wang Yuelun was also quoted as saying his daughter won’t be participating in the following season.

The show has received high ratings and earned a sponsorship title of 28 million yuan during its first season.(Tan Yifan)
