Jennifer Lawrence, winner of last year’s Oscar for best actress in “Silver Linings Playbook,” has again drawn global attention after the big earning of her new film “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” blazed straight to the top of last weekend movie charts, setting a U.S. and Canadian record for November ticket sales and hauling in a huge US$307.7 million around the world. Fans poured into theaters for the second instalment in the series starring Lawrence as scrappy heroine Katniss Everdeen, the skilled archer who becomes a beacon of hope for the oppressed residents of the fictional nation of Panem. In an earlier interview, when asked about what it’s like shooting “Catching Fire” and how it’s a different “temperature setting” from the “Hunger Games,” she replied, “Yes, now we’re shooting in Hawaii. It’s actually really… it feels normal. It’s so bizarre, I think because everybody’s kind of the same, and seeing the whole crew back, it’s like a little reunion. It’s really fun.” The 23-year-old American now is heading further, becoming the next sparkling superstar. For Lawrence, winning another Oscar award is just a matter of waiting. (SD-Agencies) |
