    ‘Gravity’ director wins award

    “Gravity” director Alfonso Cuaron is to be honored by Hollywood’s Visual Effects Society (VES).

    Cuaron will receive the society’s visionary award at the 12th annual VES ceremony on February 12 in Los Angeles.

    

    Bieber tweets about retirement

    Teen pop megastar* Justin Bieber has set Twitter ablaze* with a message suggesting he may be stepping away from the stage — just as his new movie hits theaters on Christmas Day.

    “My beloved beliebers I’m officially retiring,” the 19-year-old Bieber said on Twitter to his nearly 48 million followers.

    The message has been retweeted more than 240,000 times.

    

    

    ‘Better Call Saul’ to debut

    AMC will air “Better Call Saul,” a series focused on one of the more colorful “Breaking Bad” characters, in the United States in 2014. The spinoff* will then become available through Netflix to viewers in Latin America and Europe.

    First rumored last April, the spinoff will give a second life to the world of “Breaking Bad,” which ended September 29 in its final episode on AMC. The show will focus on Saul Goodman, the crooked lawyer played by Bob Odenkirk.

    

    Cyrus is said dating Kellan Lutz

    “Twilight” hunk* Kellan Lutz, a good friend of Liam Hemsworth, is having a fling with Miley Cyrus, a source confirmed to Us Weekly magazine.

    Cyrus was also spotted embracing Lutz while giving him a kiss on the cheek at a party on December 27.

    The actor, 28, reached out to the “Bangerz” singer, 21, in early December, said the insider. “The next day, they hung out. And they’ve been hooking up ever since.”
