World’s first wireless touch display to enter China

Ever imagine freeing your desktop screen from your desk? Here is a new display that is as convenient as your laptop.

The latest Lenovo ThinkVision LT1423p display can enjoy a wireless connection to a computer that is 10 meters away, and can withstand scratches comparable to those made by a pencil with hardness of at least 7H.

The monitor has just passed the TUV Rheinland Wirelss and Touch Screen Certification. It is the world’s first recipient of such a certificate.

The product will enter the Chinese market this quarter, Victor Rios, vice president and general manager of Lenovo Think Desktop/Workstation/Visuals, revealed at a ceremony marking the certification in Shenzhen on January 16.

Ralf Scheller, TUV Rheinland Greater China president and CEO, presented the certificate to Rios at the ceremony.

Sound like another laptop? Actually, the gadget is quite different from a laptop. The most important thing is that it is a monitor and does not store data. Therefore, passing this display to a business client or competitor does not risk giving away any information stored in a computer.

The price of the 13.3-inch display is set at US$549 for the U.S. market.
