    He is quite a responsible man.

    When he welcomed his baby 17 years ago, he made a decision to seek his fortune in Dongguan, a city that is distant from his home, because he wanted to offer his family a better life. So he kissed his wife and young baby goodbye.

    Distance aroused his homesickness. No matter how busy and tired he was, he phoned his wife every night, asking about even trivial thing that happened to his family, especially the health and studies of his son. Every long holiday he would crowd onto a train with foul air and travel for 15 hours to visit his family. He could not fall asleep in the train because it was too crowded to find a seat.

    One time, his son’s left arm was fractured by accident. The man tried his best to find a good doctor for his little son. He spent all his money arranging for an operation and paying for medicine. He accompanied his son day and night, and bought many treats for the child without hesitation. But he just ate instant noodles every day.

    After working hard for eight years, he finally bought a new house in Dongguan and managed to reunite with his wife and son. At the new house, the son said to his mother one day: “I have found my dad has a lot of gray hair, but he is not that old, in fact.”

    His mother answered, “That’s because your father works very hard and has committed himself fully to this family.”

    He is not only responsible for his family but also for society. He often says that only being responsible for a family is not enough. He donates blood, books and money to charities from time to time. In 2008, when he learnt news of the Wenchuan earthquake online and on TV, he actively participated in fundraising campaigns.

    He is my beloved father.
