深圳职业技术学院 刘毅敏 Liu Yimin Shenzhen Polytechnic “Positive change through action” is a fundamental principle of Greenpeace, an international nongovernmental organization. As an enthusiastic young adult who wants to make a difference, I am willing to devote my whole life to protecting our planet. As an environmentalist, it’s deeply rooted in my mind that a harmonious way of living is not hard to pursue. My thoughts about leading an environmentally friendly life are as follows. To begin with, I believe nothing is more effective than just taking action. The beauty of nature on Earth is breathtaking. Thus, it’s a shame for humans to devastate it. Educating oneself and being an eco-volunteer are the best ways to reach the goal. Humans have done many things that we should regret. Fast-developing economies have caused many painful things to the environment. While enjoying the advanced life we have due to various inventions and revolutions, we should be responsible for the consequences we have caused. It might be hard at the very beginning to stop those who damage the Earth we love, but I hold a strong belief that they will understand soon as we take action and spread such knowledge to them. Although protecting the Earth requires great efforts and help from many others, I believe my way of saving the planet will someday make a difference. All I have done so far are small things, such as turning off lights and conserving water, but they will count if we all make the same contributions. |
