‘Black Coal, Thin Ice’ gets release date
    2014-03-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    《白日焰火》内地上映日期确定

After taking the top prize at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival, Chinese film “Black Coal, Thin Ice” will hit domestic screens on March 21.

The film had its world premiere at the Berlin festival, earlier in February, and went on to claim the Golden Bear prize for best film.

Also, the lead actor, Liao Fan, won the Silver Bear award for best actor.

“Black Coal, Thin Ice” follows the story of a former police officer who is trying to use his own initiative to investigate a series of killings. He soon discovers that the victims were all connected to the widow of a victim from a case five years ago. As he gets closer to the truth, he finds himself in increasing danger.

The film is written and directed by Diao Yinan. It also stars actress Kwai Lun-mei and actor Wang Xuebing.
