Sony already has announced a release date for “The Amazing Spider-Man 4,” but director Marc Webb won’t be the man in charge. In an interview, he talked about his future with the franchise*. “I’d like to be involved as a consultant*, and I’ve already talked to [producers] about it,” Webb said of Sony’s “Amazing Spider-Man” series of movies. “In terms of directing it, that will close out my tenure*. I’ve had so much fun doing it, but after the third movie, it’ll be time to find something else.” Webb’s second “Amazing Spider-Man” is “about Peter and Gwen,” he said, explaining that cutting Shailene Woodley’s Mary Jane Watson from the movie entirely came from the feeling that including her “felt wrong” on some level. While Watson won’t appear in the movie, another refugee from the Sam Raimi era will: Harry Osborn. This Harry, however, won’t be like the one that appeared in Raimi’s trilogy*. “James Franco is a very intelligent man, but his Harry Osborne was a little bit dopey*,” Webb explained. “This Harry Osborne is incredibly sharp.” (SD-Agencies) |
