Frankie Knuckles dies at 59

    U.S. musician Frankie Knuckles, known as the Godfather of House Music, died unexpectedly on March 31. Knuckles was just 59.

    He was known for remixing tracks by Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, as well as his own songs, such as “Your Love” and “The Whistle Song.”

    Emma Watson says fashion industry is ‘unhealthy’

    When it comes to the perfect fashion photoshoot, Emma Watson knows there’s no magic involved. Watson, 23, spoke with Britain’s The Guardian about the extreme measures some people in the industry have put on her to be beautiful.

    “As a younger woman, that pressure got me down, but I’ve made my peace with it,” she said. “With airbrushing* and digital manipulation*, fashion can project an image that’s dangerously unhealthy. I’m excited about the aging process. I’m more interested in women who aren’t perfect. They’re more compelling*.”

    Letterman to retire in 2015

    David Letterman’s surprise retirement announcement gives CBS a chance to lure* younger viewers to his late-night television time slot*.

    Letterman announced on April 3 that he plans to retire sometime in 2015, when his contract expires.

    CBS has not said who might succeed Letterman, but the network needs to find someone who can siphon* away some of Jimmy Fallon’s younger viewers.

    Maggie Cheung to sing at Strawberry Music Festival

    Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung has confirmed that she will participate in the Strawberry Music Festival in May, her label* announced on April 4.

    Her label Modern Sky said in a statement that Cheung has set up a band and will perform at the festival’s Beijing and Shanghai gigs* on May 1-3. This will be the first time in a long time Cheung has performed at a rock music festival.(SD-Agencies)
