The person I respect most
    2014-04-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

In my life, I have met a lot of people. Some of them have been kind, friendly and brave. Among them, the person I respect most is Zhang Lili, a teacher at No. 19 Middle School in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province.

Zhang loves her work and her students very much. She often uses money from her meager salary to help children from poor families. She often buys breakfast for her students. If her students get ill, she will go to visit them and bring some nutritious food to them. In summer, she buys ice cream for her students, and in winter, she uses her kettle to boil water for them. She is really a good example of what a teacher should be.

On May 8, 2012, when she and her students were waiting for a bus, something terrible happened. The bus careened out of control toward the students. At that moment, Zhang pushed her students out of the way without hesitation. She was run over by the bus, resulting in the amputation of both her legs. This great teacher sacrificed herself and saved her students at the risk of her own life.

Zhang’s story was filmed as a movie and broadcasted nation-wide.

After hearing her story, I was impressed by her behavior, and, to me, Zhang is the most beautiful teacher in the world.
