Taiwanese Mandopop singer Yoga Lin has announced a three-concert tour that will be stopping in Hong Kong this Saturday, Taipei in May and Shanghai in June to bid a temporary farewell to his fans before he enlists in the army. To coincide with his concert, a homonymic EP album will be released to commemorate his collective works, two of which were composed by him. Lin took everything on himself in producing “Speaking in Tongues,” a homonymic piece on the EP, including lyrics, music and production. The concerts will mark a new phase in Lin’s music career. Lin said the new music is a breakthrough point that signals a juncture between his past and future. He said he has expanded his musical talent after years of accumulation and wants to show a different side of himself. “Speaking in Tongues” was a collaboration between Lin and rock trio Elephant Gym. The combination is expected to give a novel touch to a song that wanders between mainstream music and indie music. Lin, an enthusiastic explorer of fresh music, is confident about his new piece. “I hope the song will be the first piece that mixes Mandopop with digital rock and roll style, and people will find their emotions released when they listen to it,” he said. Lin debuted in 2008 in Taiwan with his first album entitled “Mystery Guest Was Released.”(Anna Zhao) |
