One Direction won big at this year’s Radio Disney Music Awards.

    The British boy band won two awards at the event, which took place in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

    The “Kiss You” stars reigned supreme in the Best Music Group and Fiercest Fans categories.

    Other winners on the night included Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

    The Radio Disney Music Awards is an annual awards show which is operated and governed by Radio Disney, an American radio network. The awards honor the year’s achievements in music, mainly in the teen pop genre, and are awarded based on popular vote from the network’s listeners via online voting.

    Formed three years ago, One Direction is an English-Irish pop boy band based in London, consisting of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.

    They signed with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Records after finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition “The X Factor” in 2010.

    Propelled to international success by the power of social media, One Direction’s three albums, “Up All Night,” “Take Me Home” and “Midnight Memories,” broke several records topped the charts of most major markets, and generated hit singles, which include “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Live While We’re Young” and “Story of My Life.”(SD-Agencies)
