Many skillful writers often share their secrets of how to organize words smoothly and logically. As an amateur, I’d love to share some of my thoughts on writing. The most common purpose of writing for students is to finish homework or to finish the writing part of a test, which makes most of us bored and uninterested. Therefore, I think that we should take every chance to write seriously, but not focus on test writing. Also, I think the problems in our writing are as follows: the incorrect use of vocabulary, ignorance of grammar mistakes, wrong sentences and so on. The first thing we should do is enlarge our vocabulary. We can memorize some words every day and then review those words. The second thing to do is to master English grammar. The third thing we must do is revise sentences, dialogues and passages step by step. For example, we should write down a simple sentence first, such as “I love China.” Then we add something into it, like “I love China, which is my home forever.” Finally, we can write, “I love China, which is my home forever, and I will always be proud of being Chinese.” Fourth, we should outline before we formally write passages, which is used by a lot of students nowadays. It has three benefits. The first is that we can clearly organize our sentences so we can better express ourselves. The second is that we will not forget any important information. The third, and most important, one is that we can correct any mistakes easily because we are just writing a short outline instead of a full passage. |
