‘Where Are We Going, Dad?’ Season 2 starts shooting
    2014-05-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    《爸爸去哪儿》第二季开拍

Five pairs of celebrity fathers and children have joined the shooting of the 16-episode hit reality TV show “Where Are We Going, Dad?” Season 2. The participants will stay in several relatively remote areas that promise to make the show go viral again.

Famed sportsman Yang Wei and his son, actor Francis Ng and his boy, actor Huang Lei and his daughter, actor Lu Yi and his girl and singer Gary Chaw, together with his son and daughter are now shooting the second season in Xiashiyuan Village of Xiannu Town in Wulong County, Chongqing. Among the six children, Huang’s daughter is the oldest, aged 8, while Chaw’s daughter is only 3 years old.

Director of the show, Xie Dikui, said this season has retained many of the traits from the last one, but the scenarios of the participants choosing a house, cooking and finding raw food materials will not be repeated. “We changed a bit of the script, only to make it more fun to watch,” he said. “But the parts with fathers sharing their theories on parenting will remain.”

In addition, the new season will invite guest participants to replace pairs when necessary. Because it takes a long time to finish shooting a whole season, some pairs may not be able to join the project until close to the end. Xie said they have also considered some Olympic stars and writers.

The first episode will air on June 20.

Adapted from the Korean version made by TV station MBC, the program, which was produced by Hunan Satellite TV, aired last October and soon won over Chinese audiences. Its average audience ratings reached over 20 percent and ranked first in its time slot. (Tan Yifan)
