Gong Li to head SIFF jury panel

Chinese actress Gong Li has recently been appointed as the president of the jury for the 17th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).

However, this is not the first time for Gong to head a film festival’s jury panel*. She had previously been president at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Venice International Film Festival.

    Ariel Winter resolves custody battle

“Modern Family” star Ariel Winter will keep living with her elder sister after an agreement was reached over her guardianship*.

The actress had been staying with her sibling since 2012 after accusations that her mother, Chrisoula Workman, had abused* her physically and emotionally.

The agreement was reached just before a trial was about to begin to decide who would care for Winter.

    Miranda Lambert leads CMT nominations

Miranda Lambert leads the Country Music Television nominations by pairing with her husband Blake Shelton, her girl group Pistol Annies and good friend Keith Urban.

She’s up for two individual awards for her video “Automatic,” two for collaborating with the Annies on Shelton’s song “Boys ‘Round Here” and two more for singing with Urban on his song, “We Were Us.”

    Emma Stone joins Allen’s movie

Emma Stone is quickly becoming one of Woody Allen’s favorite stars to work with.

The actress has signed on to the filmmaker’s upcoming project that already stars Joaquin Phoenix.

Details on Allen’s new project are slim, but he is expected to write, direct and produce the film as he has in the past. Like a lot of filmmakers, Allen’s also known to repeatedly work with certain actors, and it looks like Stone might be joining that league.
