LORDE stuns the Billboard Music Awards ceremony
    2014-05-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Teen singer Lorde wowed the crowd at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday with a stunning performance of her hit song “Tennis Court.”

Lorde kept the setting on the stage for her performance of “Tennis Court,” with just a few disco balls and dark lighting. Wearing an all-black outfit, along with a fashionable hat, the teen totally rocked the stage. Although the setting was dark, Lorde could be seen smiling and clearly having fun with the crowd.

It’s no wonder why she was so happy — it was a big night for her. Not only did the singer give a huge performance for the crowd, but she also won top new artist and top rock song for her hit “Royals.”

Lorde is a New Zealand singer-songwriter. Born in Takapuna and raised in Devonport, Auckland, she performed in various singing and drama classes as a child, and at the age of 13 she signed with Universal.

Her musical debut was an EP, entitled “The Love Club,” which was released in November 2012, and her first single, “Royals,” debuted at No. 1 on the New Zealand Top 40, and also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2013, making her the first New Zealand solo artist to have a No. 1 song in the United States. Her debut album, “Pure Heroine,” was released in September 2013, receiving critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide.(SD-Agencies)
