The late Chinese director Wu Tianming was awarded the best actor award for his performance in the micro film “An Old Man’s Wish” during an event called “Colorful China” in Beijing on May 17. The event was jointly held by the Film Production Department of Chinese Ethnic Minority Movie Project and the Beijing Film Association. Wu died of heart failure on March 4 this year at the age of 75. He was considered the “Godfather” of China’s film industry in the 1980s. Wu’s daughter Wu Yanyan, who was in the United States while the event was held, sent her regards by expressing her gratitude for the love to her father and recognition of her late father’s performance in the micro film. The film “An Old Man’s Wish” also won the best cinematography and best director awards. Directed by Zhang Yang, the film “An Old Man’s Wish” tells the story of Zhou Shuang (Wang Luodan) who leaves home for love and cuts off the relationship with her father (Wu Tianming).
