Baldwin arrested

    U.S. actor Alec Baldwin was arrested in New York on May 13 for riding his bicycle in the wrong direction on a one-way street and acting “in a violent, threatening manner” toward police officers, officials said.

    The actor was taken into custody* by two officers who spotted him riding his bike against traffic in lower Manhattan around 10 a.m., police said. He was issued two summonses*, one for the bicycle violation and another for disorderly conduct.

    Lady Gaga Dubai concert censored

    A planned Lady Gaga concert in Dubai in September will be censored* to respect cultural traditions, the United Arab Emirates daily Gulf News reported on May 13.

    The Gulf News quoted Marco Rios, the chairman and CEO of AMI Live, one of the three firms involved in bringing Gaga to Dubai, as saying: “There will be some edits for Dubai. It cannot be the full show because it wouldn’t be allowed. So it’s a special show for Dubai and for the culture.”

    Jolie talks wedding plans

    Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children are keen to help their parents plan their long-awaited wedding.

    Jolie said: “We will get married ... We are discussing it with the children and how they imagine it might be ... which is verging on* hysterical, how kids envision a wedding.”

    Wang Leehom’s wife pregnant

    Renowned Chinese singer-songwriter Wang Leehom surprisingly revealed the news of his wife’s pregnancy at his glee party on May 18.

    Wang’s wife, Lee Jinglei, attended the party, which was a celebration of the success of Wang’s concert in Xi’an. Lee, who wore a loose-fitting blouse that hid her baby bump, walked into sight when Wang announced that Li was five months pregnant.

    “I am so glad to share the news with the rest of you,” said Wang, who celebrated his birthday on Saturday.
