Hip-hop star Chris Brown was released on Monday from the Los Angeles County jail, thanking God in a shout-out to his fans on Twitter. “Back to the Music and the Fans. Thank you GOD,” he wrote. Brown was released after serving 108 days of a yearlong sentence for violating the terms of his parole* in a 2009 domestic violence case involving his then-girlfriend Rihanna. The celebrity website TMZ said the 25-year-old benefited from a reduction in sentence for good behavior. He is still in legal jeopardy*, however. Brown faces up to six months in jail and a US$1,000 fine stemming from* a fight he and a bodyguard got into with a third man outside a fancy Washington D.C. hotel on October 27. A hearing on that case is scheduled for June 25 in the U.S. capital.(SD-Agencies) |
