Chinese actress-director Xu Jinglei yesterday revealed in a microblog post that K-pop boy band EXO’s Kris is starring in her new movie “Somewhere Only We Know.” She accompanied her post with a series of publicity photos of Kris and his co-stars Wang Likun, Juck Zhang as well as Reyizha Alimjan. It is Kris’ big screen debut and first acting project after he sued his management agency SM Entertainment in May, in a bid to terminate his contract with the company. Both parties have since been ordered by the courts to undergo mediation. Born in Guangzhou City, Kris immigrated to Canada with his mother when he was 10 years old. He later returned to China for a short time and went back to Canada. In 2007, Kris signed a contract with SM Entertainment and joined EXO as the group leader in 2012. He released four albums, including “XOXO” and “MAMA.” “Somewhere Only We Know” tells the tale of a young woman who travels to Europe after getting dumped by her fiance, and finds romance there. The film is currently in production in Prague, the Czech Republic, and is expected to be released on Valentine’s Day next year.(SD-Agencies) |
