    Jay Chou to marry before January

    He once said he would be married at age 35, and on June 24, Taiwanese pop king Jay Chou announced in Taipei that he would be “a man of his word” and marry model Hannah Quinlivan before January next year.

    Speaking to the media at a Golden Melody Awards lecture, he said he had not yet popped the question because he is still thinking about a special, romantic proposal, reported China Times.

    

    Bob Dylan lyrics sell for US$2m

    Bob Dylan’s original, handwritten manuscript* for “Like a Rolling Stone” sold for just over US$2 million on June 24 at Sotheby’s rock and roll auction.

    The price for the 1965 annotated* lyrics for “Like a Rolling Stone,” considered one of the most influential songs in postwar music, makes it the most expensive rock music manuscript sold at auction.

    

    Madonna’s daughter enrolls in university

    Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, will be seen at the University of Michigan this fall, as she just enrolled as a freshman at the Ann Arbor college.

    Leon, 17, is registered in the university’s directory* as a student in the undergraduate music, theater and dance program, in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in fine arts in musical theater.

    

    JJ Lin crowned at GM Awards

    Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin and Malaysia’s Penny Tai were crowned best Mandarin singers at Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards.

    Lin won the top male singing honor for his album “Stories Untold.” Tai took the top female singing award for her album “Unexpected.” She also won the best album producer award for another album at the award ceremony in Taipei on Saturday night.(SD-Agencies)
