    Gao Hu arrested for drug use

    Beijing police on August 12 announced the detention* of actor Gao Hu, 40, for possession and use of marijuana* and methamphetamine*.

    Gao confessed that he had been smoking marijuana, which was evidenced by a urine* test, after his nabbing* August 4.

    Robin Williams hanged himself Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams hanged himself with a belt in his Northern California home after he had sought treatment for depression*, a coroner* said on August 12.

    Williams, 63, was found dead by his personal assistant at midday* August 11 in a bedroom. He was suspended from a belt wedged between a closet door and a door frame, in a seated position just off the ground, MarinCounty’s assistant chief deputy coroner, Keith Boyd, told a news conference.

    ‘Frozen’ special to be screened

    ABC says it plans to air a special called “The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic” on September 2.

    The collaboration between Lincoln Square Productions and Walt Disney Animation Studios will offer a behind-the-scenes* glimpse at the origins and evolution of the Academy Award-winning 2013 film “Frozen.”

    Jimmy Fallon, Joe Morton, Allison Janney win CA Emmys

    The Creative Arts Emmys saw big wins for Uzo Aduba, Jimmy Fallon, Joe Morton and Allison Janney on Saturday evening.

    Netflix’s buzzy dramedy “Orange Is the New Black” kicked off the ceremony, with casting director Jennifer Euston nabbing a trophy for the show’s diverse ensemble of female inmates.
