Jack Ma’s biopic film under way

Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group, who just became the richest man in China thanks to his company’s record-breaking IPO-offering on the New York Stock Exchange, could next become the subject of a movie. Producer Janet Yang is looking to set up an international co-production focusing on Ma and his life.

Bruce Feirstein has written a script for Yang called “Alibaba,” the name of Ma’s group of Internet-based e-commerce businesses.

Dr. Dre is king of hip-hop: Forbes

With US$620 million in estimated pre-tax earnings, veteran rapper and record producer Dr. Dre topped Forbes list as the highest paid hip-hop artist, ousting Sean “Diddy” Combs from the top spot.

Forbes said Dre’s estimated annual earnings for the 12 months between June 2013 and 2014 are the highest of any musician in any genre it has ever evaluated, and more than the combined takings of the other 24 names on the hip-hop list released on September 23.

Next ‘James Bond’ movie to shoot

“James Bond” and the rest of MI6 will be back at it again when shooting begins for the 24th film on December 6.

British actor Daniel Craig will be back in his fourth round as the British spy. Also making a return from the last Bond film, “Skyfall,” are Ralph Feinnes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Ben Wishaw as Q.

The new “James Bond” movie is set for release next year in October in the United Kingdom and early November in the United States.
