Classic comedies to reopen in Chinese cinemas
    2014-10-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The iconic comedy series “A Chinese Odyssey,” or “Dahuaxiyou,” will reopen in Chinese theaters next Friday.

The fantasy-comedy films were directed and written by Jeffrey Lau, starring Stephen Chow and Karen Mok among others.

The first film is titled “Pandora’s Box,” while the second one is called “Cinderella.”

The films are wild adaptions* from the Chinese classical novel “Journey to the West.”

In the adaptions*, Monkey King was even involved in a relationship with a fairy.

The wild imagination and classic lines have become a cult classic among young adults in China.

The films to be reopened are digital reproductions based on the original movies, which are promised to provide a better quality to the viewers.(SD-Agencies)
