MEMBERS of the local blind community got together yesterday afternoon in Meilin area, Futian District to celebrate the 31st annual White Cane Safety Day. Around 140 blind residents from across the city were encouraged to join a series of sporting activities.

    Initiated by the Shenzhen Blinds’ Association, which has connections with over 2,000 local blind people, the yearly event aims to bring joy to the blind, to help them mingle with the local community and to raise people’s awareness of caring for disabled people.(Tan Yifan)
