15th Reading Month UNVEILED
    2014-11-06  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

NOVEMBER is “Reading Month” in Shenzhen. Saturday morning saw the 15th annual event kick off at Shenzhen Book City CBD Store.

With the theme of “Passing national spirit and creating civilized life,” this year, 718 activities have been planned, including 55 top events.

During Reading Month, people can receive various discount deals from some large bookstores in the city. Book-sharing activities will also help people exchange their books. The Reading Month activities also include a series of forums.

The event was launched by the Shenzhen government in 2000 as a way of stirring up passion for reading among the public. It is regarded as one of the most important cultural festivals in the city and one of the longest lasting cultural events in the world.(Tan Yifan)
