    Aerospace sector

    THE amount of money invested into aerospace in Shenzhen will reach 150 billion yuan (US$24.44 billion) by 2020, Invest Shenzhen said during a promotion activity Friday. At the activity, three overseas aviation companies reached agreements to develop general aviation services and research and design for seaplane and helicopter pilot training centers in the city.

    The developers plan to build the centers in either Bao’an or Longgang district. Shenzhen’s aerospace industry is now valued at about 50 billion yuan.

    Hi-tech alliance

    A MULTINATIONAL technology alliance was established yesterday at the hi-tech fair.

    The China, Canada and Korea International Technology Innovation Industry Alliance was formed by China Hao Yuan Group, Canada Hao Yuan Technology Group and Korea High-tech Program Hatch Center. The first batch of 50 Korean enterprises will be introduced to join the alliance soon.

    The Shenzhen-based alliance also unveiled an online platform for the exchange of innovations among the three countries yesterday. The platform aims to help small- and medium-sized enterprises in China, Canada and South Korea build technological cooperation, receive professional training and develop in markets overseas.

    New R&D bases

    THE Northwestern Polytechnical University and Shandong University started construction of research institutes at Shenzhen Hi-tech Industrial Park (SHIP) in Nanshan District on Saturday.

    In addition, the State-level laboratory of mobile Internet technologies of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications was put into operation at SHIP.
