Director Zhang Yimou’s drama, “Coming Home,” has been nominated for the 2015 Golden Globe’s best foreign language film in Hollywood. The film, which stars renowned mainland actress Gong Li, has been picked as one of China’s entries for the best foreign language film category. “Coming Home” joins director Peter Chan’s abduction drama “Dearest” and Han Han’s road flick, “The Continent.” Zhang’s film had its first stab on the awards stage last month at the Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan where it lost in all categories it held nominations. Gong expressed her dismay at losing in the best actress category for her role in “Coming Home,” going so far as to suggest the Golden Horse’s judging process is flawed.(SD-Agencies) |
