Rihanna named as creative director

    Germany’s Puma named pop star Rihanna as its women’s creative director on December 16.

    Puma said in a statement that the multi-year deal starting in January would involve Rihanna becoming the face of the women’s training category, joining celebrities like Olympic champion sprinter Usain Bolt as brand ambassador.

    Thomas to play U.K. queen

    Helen Mirren has the crowning glory of an Oscar and a West End reign to show for her portrayal of the British queen. But BAFTA-winning actress Kristin Scott Thomas will be next to the throne* as she prepares to play Elizabeth II in “The Audience.”

    Kristin, 54, was pictured for the first time in costume as the queen before she replaces Mirren in the West End in April 2015, while she will take the starring role to Broadway. Mirren, 69, has played the British monarch* since her Oscar-winning role in 2012’s Hollywood epic “The Queen.”

    ‘Glee’ gets final season

    The sixth and final season of Fox’s hit musical comedy “Glee” is set to finally debut with a special two-hour premiere on January 9.

    Luckily, the TV gods have gifted fans with the very first promo from the final season. In the jam-packed* preview, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel (Lea Michele) confront Sue (Jane Lynch) with their newest musical mission. “We’re bringing back the glee club,” Rachel confesses with a tone of defiance. It’s looking like fans can expect a whole class full of familiar faces.

    Schwimmer to play Kardashian’s father

    Ross Geller is joining the Kardashian family. “Friends” star David Schwimmer has boarded the FX miniseries “American Crime Story,” from “American Horror Story” and “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy, playing O.J.’s friend and powerful defense attorney Robert Kardashian.

    Schwimmer’s casting beefs up* a growing ensemble for “American Crime Story,” which already includes Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. and AHS franchise player Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark.(SD-Agencies)
