Son of famous actor convicted of sheltering drug users
    2015-01-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Zhang Mo, the son of famous Chinese actor Zhang Guoli, was sentenced to six months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan (US$800). Zhang was convicted of sheltering three of his friends while they used drugs.

Zhang, an actor himself, was caught smoking marijuana in his house with two other friends in Beijing on July 29, 2014. The 32-year-old man turned himself in during the interrogation and admitted that he sheltered his friends in his house while they took drugs several times. After a six-month investigation, Beijing Haidian District People’s Court found him guilty.

It was not the first time Zhang was put behind bars. He was detained for 13 days in 2012 for taking drugs.

Zhang expressed his deep regret for violating the law and stated that he would never do it again. His father, Zhang Guoli, has remained silent since Zhang was detained by the police last year.
