Shooting has begun for the much-anticipated Chinese sci-fi movie “The Three-Body Problem.” Director Zhang Fanfan made the revelation on his Weibo account. “Three-Body Problem” is being adapted from Chinese sci-fi writer Liu Cixin’s trilogy* of the same name. In the trilogy, the entire solar system is flattened* into two dimensions in an apocalyptic* battle between humans and aliens. Zhang, who is known for directing mystery films, will be joined by writer Liu on the set as a consultant and executive director. Yoozoo Pictures, the film’s producer, is planning to spend 1.2 billion yuan on the trilogy. The first installment* of the series is set for release next year. (SD-Agencies) |
