SCI-FI MOVIE ‘THREE-BODY PROBLEM’ STARTS SHOOTING
    2015-03-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Shooting has begun for the much-anticipated Chinese sci-fi movie “The Three-Body Problem.”

Director Zhang Fanfan made the revelation on his Weibo account.

“Three-Body Problem” is being adapted from Chinese sci-fi writer Liu Cixin’s trilogy* of the same name.

In the trilogy, the entire solar system is flattened* into two dimensions in an apocalyptic* battle between humans and aliens.

Zhang, who is known for directing mystery films, will be joined by writer Liu on the set as a consultant and executive director.

Yoozoo Pictures, the film’s producer, is planning to spend 1.2 billion yuan on the trilogy.

The first installment* of the series is set for release next year.
