Liuxiaolingtong, who plays the Monkey King in the classic 1986 TV adaption of “Journey to the West,” said he planned to shoot a movie version of the famous Chinese novel.

    The 56-year-old Monkey King actor said he has been mulling the idea of making a movie series of “Journey to the West” for a long time.

    He also planned to invite the original cast of the 1986 TV series to join in.

    Ma Dehua, who plays the monk pig in the original TV series, has already agreed to take part in the film.

    The film is due to hit theaters next year.(SD-Agencies)
