Laura Marano lands record deal with Big Machine Records
    2015-04-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Actress Laura Marano, 19, announced the news on Saturday that she signed with Big Machine Records.

“I am more than THRILLED to share I am the first pop artist signed to @BigMachine!! @scottborchetta @DLNUmusic @YAY!!!! Woo HOO,” she wrote on Twitter.

Big Machine Records is based in Nashville and specializes in country music artists. Singer Taylor Swift is signed to the label, in addition to Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and the Zac Brown Band. Marano also shared a photo of herself with label senior vice president of A&R Allison B. Jones.

Marano came to fame as Kate Malone on CBS police drama “Without a Trace,” and subsequently portrayed Gracie Carr on Fox sitcom “Back to You.” The actress currently stars as Ally Dawson on Disney channel series “Austin & Ally,” which won big at the Kids’ Choice Awards over the weekend, earning Marano the best actress award.

In addition to acting and singing career, Marano also has joined several charity events in past years.

In 2013, Marano was named the 2013 Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Ambassador, which encouraged children to raise money on Halloween to help children around the world. The following year, Marano was an ambassador for the Disney and Birds Eye Vegetables campaign “Step up to the plate.” The campaign tries to encourage more kids to eat their veggies.(SD-Agencies)
