Johnny Depp’s film shut down

    The crew of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” have been forced to drop anchor in the wake of Johnny Depp’s hand injury.

    The fifth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean,” with a purported budget of US$250 million, had been thrown into uncharted* waters after the 51-year-old Depp returned to Los Angeles on March 11 to undergo surgery for his hand.

    Kristen Stewart joining Ang Lee movie

    “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart is in talks to join “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk,” which Ang Lee is directing.

    TriStar and Film4 are partnering with Studio 8 on the project, which is an adaptation of Ben Fountain’s novel. The Wrap reported that Stewart would be joining a cast that already includes Steve Martin, Garrett Hedlund and newcomer Joe Alwyn.

    The film centers around 19-year-old Private Billy (Alwyn) who survives a battle in Iraq, which is captured by news cameras. He and his company of soldiers are brought back to the United States for a promotional tour culminating in* a halftime show at a Thanksgiving Day football game.

    Jay Chou to be a father

    Singer Jay Chou and his wife Hannah Quinlivan are expecting their first child. Chou on April 9 posted two photos on Facebook — one of Quinlivan’s silhouette* with a pregnant belly, and another one with him sporting a “bump” himself.

    “Let’s see who is better at walking around with a ball,” the 36-year-old wrote.

    Taylor Swift dating Calvin Harris

    Taylor Swift is dating Calvin Harris, sources confirmed exclusively to Us Weekly, after the two were spotted holding hands at a Kenny Chesney concert last week.

    The two first hit it off at the 2015 Brit Awards last month. After two weeks of texting with the world’s highest-paid EDM DJ, Swift flew to Las Vegas to watch him perform on March 7. They made a PDA-filled appearance on April 9.
