Sam Smith shortlisted for INA

    Sam Smith, George Ezra and Clean Bandit are in the running for the prize for the most played song of the past year at The Ivor Novello songwriting awards.

    The most performed work category sees Smith’s hit “Stay With Me” nominated alongside Ezra’s “Budapest” and “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit.

    The annual awards, now in their 60th year, are voted for by songwriters.

    Bobbi Brown’s condition revealed

    Bobby Brown’s lawyer has issued a statement saying the singer’s daughter has “opened her eyes” nearly three months after being found unresponsive* in a bathtub in her home.

    Christopher Brown said he wanted to clarify comments the singer made during a concert over the weekend about his daughter’s condition.

    The statement says that “there has been improvement” in her condition. But it says that Bobbi Kristina Brown is just beginning her rehabilitation*. The statement ended: “The quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”

    Sandra Bullock: most beautiful woman

    Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock was named the world’s most beautiful woman in 2015 by People magazine last week and laughed when she heard about the honor.

    “No, really. I just said, ‘That’s ridiculous,’” she told the magazine.

    Bullock, 50, who won a best actress Academy Award in 2010 for her role in “The Blind Side,” said she found beauty in her role as a mother to her 5-year-old son, Louis.

    Taylor Swift wins Disney award

    Taylor Swift has a few losses to shake off following Saturday’s 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards.

    The pop megastar was victorious in the best song to dance to category with “Shake It Off,” but she lost to Ariana Grande in three categories: best female artist, song of the year and most talked-about artist.

    Another big winner at the ceremony was rising star Becky G, who took home two awards. Ed Sheeran was named best male artist, and Fifth Harmony topped One Direction for best music group.(SD-Agencies)
