On Children’s Day, which fell on Monday, the team song for the Young Pioneers of China was given a remake and performed by TFBOYS.

    The song was a reproduced version of “We Are the Heirs of Communism*.”

    The music video of the remade song featured guest appearances by Chi Haotian, a Chinese armed forces general, former basketball player Yao Ming and singer Han Geng.

    The original version of the song was the theme song of the 1978 film “Little Eighth Route.”

    The film is about a group of children who were soldiers with the Eighth Route Army and stayed on the frontlines* of coastal Fujian in order to help the war effort against nationalist forces.

    The Young Pioneers of China is the mass youth organization of the Communist Party of China for children aged 6 to 14 in the country.(SD-Agencies)
