    Pussy Riot to join Glastonbury Festival

    Russian punk band Pussy Riot will appear at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, according to the event’s full 2015 lineup*.

    The anti-Putin activists will appear twice during the festival, on the Park Stage on June 17 and the Left Field on June 28.

    

    German singer admits card scam

    The newly crowned winner of a German TV singing contest has admitted in court to defrauding* pensioners.

    Severino Seeger won 500,000 euros (US$530,900) on the show “Germany’s Quest for a Superstar” last month.

    The 28-year-old was accused of being part of a gang that tricked victims, mainly elderly women, out of about 19,000 euros using a bank card scam.

    

    Bruce Willis to star in Chinese film

    U.S. actor Bruce Willis and South Korean actor Song Seung-heon have been cast in a Chinese war film.

    Willis flew to Shanghai on June 2 after signing on just a week ago for eight days of shooting on “The Bombing” — a dramatic recreation of the Chinese population’s abiding* endurance during the more than five years that Japan bombed the city of Chongqing beginning in 1938. More than 11,000 died.

    

    Anthony Riley dies

    Anthony Riley, a contestant on the most recent season of “The Voice,” has died. He was 28. Riley was found dead in his Philadelphia apartment on June 5. The death was an apparent suicide*.

    Riley, a Philadelphia street performer, earned a coveted* four-chair turn during his blind audition in season eight of NBC’s “The Voice.”

    Riley won his first competition in the battle rounds but voluntarily dropped out of the show midway through the season for personal reasons. He later said that he had decided to enter a two-week rehab program for substance abuse*.
